1. Who we are

AngeLens is a web-based tool that helps people analyze job opportunities and make smarter decisions before applying.

2. What data we collect

• CV / resume data uploaded by you
• Job descriptions you provide
• Email address (if you join the early access waitlist or create an account)
• Technical data (browser, device, usage patterns, page views, clicks)
• Session recordings (via PostHog, for UX improvement purposes only)

3. How we use your data

• Analyze your CV and job descriptions to provide fit, risk, and confidence insights
• Send you one launch notification if you joined the waitlist
• Improve and develop the product
• Ensure system security and prevent abuse

4. AI processing

We use third-party AI providers (including OpenAI) to generate insights and analysis.

Your input data is processed by these providers solely to deliver the service.

We minimize and limit the data shared where possible.

We do not use your data to train AI models.

5. Analytics & session recording

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data including page views, clicks, and session recordings. This helps us understand how people use AngeLens and improve the product.

You can opt out by using browser privacy settings or a tracking blocker.

We do not use analytics for advertising purposes.

6. Email communications

If you join our early access waitlist, we store your email via Resend.

We will only send you one email when AngeLens launches.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in that email.

We will never sell or share your email with third parties.

7. Data storage

Your CV and job data are processed locally in your browser where possible and are not stored on our servers beyond what is necessary for analysis.

Authenticated users' preferences are stored securely in Supabase.

Waitlist emails are stored in Resend.

8. Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data on the basis of:

• Your consent (waitlist signup, analytics)
• Legitimate interest in providing and improving the service

9. Data retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service.

Local browser data can be deleted by you at any time by clearing your browser storage.

You can request deletion of any data we hold by contacting us.

10. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Correct your data
• Request deletion
• Restrict or object to processing
• Withdraw consent at any time

11. Third-party services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate:

• OpenAI (AI analysis)
• Supabase (authentication and data storage)
• Resend (email delivery)
• PostHog (analytics and session recording)
• Vercel (hosting)
• Tavily (web search for employer research)

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves.

Continued use of the service means you accept the updated version.
